

Earl Anthony “Tony” Sedell N. Charleston - Earl Anthony “Tony” Sedell, age 90, of North Charleston passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:00pm. Born February 11, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pa, he was the son of the late Esther Haag and the late Harry Eversman. Tony joined the Army Aircorps in 1944 and retired from the USAF in 1968, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He served in Frankfurt, Germany, where he met and married his late wife, Hildegard Jeck. He was proud to serve his country during WWII and Vietnam. After retiring, he worked for the Charleston County School System as a maintenance superintendent at Wando High School and continued to exemplify the values he learned throughout his years of service to his country. Tony was much beloved by everyone that knew him for his generosity, kindness, integrity, and always being there for anyone who needed him. He was a special and unique man who will be sorely missed. Tony was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Hildegard Jeck Sedell; two sisters, Alberta Miller and Jeannie Funfar. Surviving are his brother, Ralph Sedell (Dorothy) of Pittsburgh, Pa; his son, Michael Anthony Sedell (Marty) of Summerville, SC; his daughter, Ursula Frieda Drury (William, II) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandsons; Dr. William J. Drury, III (Asa) of Gothenburg, Sweden; Christopher Michael Drury, Esq. (Vanessa) of Miami, Fl; David Matthew Sedell (Elizabeth) of Portland, Or; and a great-grandson, William August Drury.
