Edward James Myers

Edward James Myers of Goose Creek, widower of Elma Grace Goins Myers, laid down his working tools of life on Sunday August 24, 2014. The relatives and friends of Edward J. Myers are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Edward was born April 15, 1931 in Charleston, SC to the late Archie Myers and Rosa Lee Clark Myers. He was a member of MacArthur Lodge 427 in Goose Creek, SC, with over 25 years service. E.J. worked at the Naval shipyard, retiring when it closed. He was a member of Goose Creek Church of God and a member of the Sweatman Hunting Club. He is survived by his sons: Ronald Edward Myers, Michael Lee Myers, Ricky Burbage Myers and Edward James Myers Jr. all of Goose Creek, SC, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sisters: Hazel Driggers of Jedburg, SC, Janie Shaw of Goose Creek, SC, Caroline Ievy of Ladson, SC and Katherine Gierman of Chicago, and a brother Dempsey Myers of Lincolnville, SC.. He is predeceased by a sister: Cristine Green, brothers Eugene Myer, Levi Myers, Andrew Myers and Leon Myers.
