On December 1, 1950 Master Sergeant Finley James Davis was documented as M.I.A. in Peoples Republic of North Korea. On April 30, 1951 he reportedly died in P.O.W. Camp 5 at Pyoktong, in or around May of 1956. His unidentified remains were transferred to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Some 60 years later his remains were identified and the family was notified of this blessing on August 11, 2017.
At the time of his passing, Sergeant Davis was survived by his mother, Anna Davis, his wife Violet Marie Len, and his only child, daughter Roseann Davis. Sergeant Davis was born in Munhall Pennsylvania and employed by U.S. Steel Mill until entering the United States Army. His favorite hobby was boxing and his favorite song was Cherry Berry Bin by Harry James.
Today Sergeant Davis is survived by his daughter Roseann Stonestreet, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday April 18, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations. Master Sergeant Davis will be entombed on Thursday April 19, 2018 11am(His Birthday) with full military honors in the Garden of Valor at Carolina Memorial Park.
