Ivey Reynolds Boland, 94, of North Charleston, widower of James A. Boland, Sr. went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC. Ivey was born on March 14, 1920 in Columbus, Georgia, daughter to the late John Ivey Reynolds and Minnie Lee Reynolds. She spent her childhood growing up in Enterprise, Alabama and considered it her home. Ivey worked much of her life taking care of patients at MUSC and the Naval Hospital as a nurse. She loved helping people feel better. Ivey also spent about 50 years as a real estate agent/broker helping people secure places to live. She loved both jobs very much and worked them simultaneously. She worked in real estate until the age of 85. Ivey loved coffee, gardening, fishing, crocheting, shopping, spending time with family, Sunday dinners, tomatoes, peaches and her Sheltie Lucky. Surviving family are: three children: James (Susan) A. Boland, Jr of Westerville, Ohio, Barbara A Boland of Goose Creek, SC, and Doris (John) Boland Jenkins of Goose Creek, SC; 5 grandchildren: James (Lisa) A. Boland III, Jason Boland, Justin Boland, John E. Jenkins III (J.J.), and Jennifer Jenkins; 2 great grandchildren: Kayla Boland and Isabella Boland. Ivey’s family would like to thank Life Care Center of Charleston for taking wonderful care of their mother. Donations may be sent in Ivey’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. Flowers are also welcome.
