Kenneth was born November 5, 1944 in Mt. Vernon Illinois, the son of Kenneth Kivlin and Evelo Lucille (Lane) Braddy. On January 29, 1962 Kenneth joined the United States Navy where he served his country proudly for 23 years. After attending bootcamp for the Navy he came home to marry the love of his life, Sandra Kay Correll, on April 21, 1962 at First Baptist Carlyle.
Kenneth loved his family. He was kind hearted with a small amount of spice. He would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed fishing and would go any chance he could. In his later years he became an avid gardener, enjoyed his koi pond, raised box turtles and took a love to any animal that crossed his path. Kenneth was also very handy. He could spend hours with his son and grandson taking any motor apart just to make it run better, even if it was already running. He wasn’t afraid to try fixing anything.
After retiring from the United States Navy, Kenneth worked at Parks Auto Parts on Rivers Ave for 25 years where he served so many patrons as a counter manager.
Kenneth was preceeded in death by his mother, Evelo Lucille; father, Kenneth Kivlin; sister, Lois Marie; brother, Richard Lee all of Illinois and his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra Kay of Goose Creek, SC.
