Laura Johnson

Laura Johnson, 97, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 29, 2016 .The relatives and friends of Laura Johnson are invited to attend her memorial services at 11 am, Monday March 14, 2016 at the historic church at Christ Church, 2304 N. Hwy 17, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466 (843)884-9090. Laura was born May 18, 1918 in Wheaton, Montgomery County, Maryland, a daughter of the late Emma V. (Magruder) Carmack and John N. Carmack.. She was the wife of the late George Johnson. Laura was preceded in death by her grandson, Kenneth Lee Gordy. She was a member of Christ Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC, she had been active in the Eastern Star serving as Matron in Framingham, MA. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years for both children and adults. Laura was also the past leader of a prayer group at Sandpiper Village in Mt. Pleasant and she had worked many years as a book keeper in Maryland, MA and Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Gordy (Lee) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, her son, Raymond W. Godman (Patricia) of Williamsburg, VA, three grandchildren; Karen Stockner, Lisa Ould and Kathryn Novakovic, and seven great-grandchildren.
