Mr. Lewis Lyle Law Sr., age 82 of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Born December 27, 1943, in Clifton, Kansas, he was the son of the late Wilbur Francis Law and Dorothy Fern Marko Law. Mr. Law was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who made warm, lasting connections wherever he lived.
Mr. Law proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force honorably as a Senior Master Sergeant. After his military service, he continued to serve his country for more than two decades in secure communications with several Department of Defense contractors.
A faithful Christian, he was saved at a young age and loved the Lord. Music was a lifelong passion: he sang in church choir, where he met his wife, Janis. He also learned to play the mandolin, performed exhibition clogging with his family, and sang four-part harmony with barbershop groups for 38 years. He competed at the international level for 13 of those years and was a member of ensembles including Gents in a Chord and Priority Mail in California, Heart of Texas in Texas, and Palmetto Vocal Group in South Carolina. He also enjoyed leathercrafting – hand tooling many gifts – and crafting special canes from unique woods he discovered.
Mr. Law is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Janis K. Law of Moncks Corner, SC; his daughter, Joy Dawn Shane (Gary Shane) of Lompoc, CA; his son, Lewis L. Law Jr. (Michele Kosiba) of Moncks Corner, SC; granddaughters: Laurie Lynn Post (Neal Post IV) of Lake Elsinore, CA, Erin Nicole Groner (Kayne Groner) of Grover Beach, CA, Stephanie Anne Shane of Lompoc, CA, and Angel Sierra Law of Moncks Corner, SC; great-grandchildren: Chloe Dawn Post and Neal (aka Freddie) Post V of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Korra Sage Groner of Grover Beach, CA; his sister, Fran Cunningham of Benson, NC; and his brothers, Milton Law of Cantonment, FL and Charles Law of Harlingen, TX.
Mr. Law was preceded in death by his sister Celia Lambert Moore of Round Rock, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2026 at 3:00PM at Northwood Baptist Church, 2200 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the care and compassion shown by friends, neighbors, and caregivers. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Law’s memory to the church of your choice, or a veterans' organization of your preference.
