Norman L Hicks

grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal

rest January 10, 2025.

Born August 5, 1944 in Florence County, South Carolina, to

the late William Stanley Hicks and late Florrie Maybelle Stone.

Norman met his wife, Ann M. Hicks, in their hometown of

Pamplico, South Carolina where they were married on June,

24, 1966. Norman and Ann were married for 58 years.

Norman proudly served in the South Carolina Army National

Guard in the 1st Battalion, 118th Infantry where he retired as

Sergeant Major after 39 years. After retiring from the

SCARNG, he became a member the Marion Marauders.

Following a brief employment at Charleston Manufacturing,

Norman went to work for Lockheed Martin and retired after

32 years. Norman also had many rental properties that he

loved to fix up. He retired Hicks Rentals and Remodeling also

after 32 years. He was a member of Prospect Methodist

Church in Hyman, South Carolina and attended Aldersgate

Methodist , Church. He’s also a member of the Dorchester

Masonic Lodge 369 (Raised 12/85). He loved bowling,

spending time with family and friends, telling stories of his

childhood, yard work and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Hicks, of North Charleston,

SC; son, Kevin L. Hicks (Angie) of Summerville, SC; daughter,

Amanda (Mandy) H. Williams (Eric) of Summerville, SC; six

grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers,

Gerald Hicks (Annette) of Pamplico, SC and Ronald

( Mattaline) of Lexington, SC; and a special friend, Larry

Howard of North Charleston. He is preceded in death by his

parents, ten brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends on January 15, 2025 at

Aldersgate Methodist Church, 1444 Remount Rd, North

Charleston, SC 29406.

Visitation: 12pm – 1pm

Celebration of Life: 1pm – 2pm

Military Burial at Carolina Memorial Garden immediately

following Celebration of Life service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to

either the Marion Marauders, or Prospect Methodist Church.
