Mr. Paul G. Evers

Paul Gilbert Evers, age 89, of Hanahan, South Carolina passed away on July 7, 2023. He was husband of Joyce Garrison Evers and the son of the late Gilbert Evers and Agnes Tyssen Evers of Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Evers grew up in Chicago, Illinois and after serving four years in the United States Air Force based in Charleston, SC he married and lived the remainder of his life in the Charleston area. He worked as a Flight Simulator Technician and Instructor at the Charleston Air Force Base until he retired in 1994. He enjoyed Carpentry, making things for the home, electronics, landscaping, and being outdoors watching things in nature, especially birds, with hummingbirds being his favorite. He was also a NASCAR racing fan and had a collection of model cars. He was of Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Evers; four sons Randal, Bruce (Barbara), Mark, and Scott; 5 grandchildren Chris Evers (Haley), Terri Matthews (Scott) Nathan Evers (Shannon), Heidi Cox London (Jonathan), Tisha Cox, and six great grandchildren Victoria, Amari, Riley, Reagan, Everly, and Haxton. He is also survived by four sisters Eunice Vos (Clarance), Louise Spoolstra, Phyllis DiVenere (Vince), and Ruth Van Eck; one brother Gilbert Evers (Joanne); and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by one brother Phillip Evers (Carol), and one brother in-law William Van Eck.

There will be a private memorial for Mr. Evers at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home for family members and close friends.
