Born on April 12, 1938 in Holly Hill, SC, Rachel was the daughter of Lucille Scott Lutes.
Rachel was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Lutes was a member of North Charleston Church of God of Prophecy. She held the positions of Sunday School teacher, band leader, song leader, missionary leader, youth director, and dorus worker.
Rachel leaves behind a brother Robbie (Peggie) Burnings, her son Bobby (Judy) Lutes, a daughter Linda (Hal) Wooten, six grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Wooten, Eric (Missi) Wooten, Brandon (Carrie) Lutes, Megan (Kinon) Lecholop, Cameron Lutes, and Caleb Lutes, 10 great-grandchildren, Amber Wooten, Cole Wooten, Luke Wooten, Reagan Wooten, Levi Wooten, Anderson Lutes, Grayson Lutes, Davidson Lutes, Colton Lecholop, and Reade Lecholop.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am until 11:00 am on February 6, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation. Mrs. Lutes Celebration of Life will follow immediately at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
