I remember Riley, whom my family called Mac, as a very fine person. He was always so upbeat and lots of fun to be around. He worked tirelessly for the Shriners doing what ever he could to help those in need. He and his wife were both great friends. They are both missed by all who knew them. 


Dear Hazel, I am so sorry to hear of Mac's passing. We have known you and Mac especially for many years. Frank and I used to sell candy bars for him for the Shriner's Children's Hospital every year at the Flea Market in Ladson. Our son, Kenneth and his wife, Karen are also good friends of yours for many years. We have all shared many good meals together at Ken's home. Mac will be missed by many. I pray God will be with you at this time and always and give you comfort and peace. We all love you.





Riley Mayo McDaniel and I are 7th Cousins 1 time removed. We have never met or spoken to each other before. I have been communicating with his sister, Nancy Kay McDaniel for several years and we have a very good relationship as cousins and as friends. She has shared with me some things about Riley which show his character and I feel very honored that he is a member of our family. Riley served our country in the Korean War. He also was very active with the Boy Scouts and the Shriners for many years. For the last several years, Riley would also go and visit the nursing homes and would sing Gospel songs for the residents. He spent his time serving wherever he  could and was an inspiration to us all and set a great example for the way we should all live our lives learning to serve others as Jesus did. I only wish I could have met my wonderful cousin before he passed on, but I know for a fact that I will one day meet him in Heaven.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family. My confidence and hope is that Riley is  walking on those streets of gold in the presence of our Savior and that we will see him again someday in the near future.  Thank you, Riley for being such a blessing to so many lives and being a pillar in our family and an example for the generations to come.
