Sandra was a Garrett High School graduate and went on to earn her associate's degree in medical assisting. She was a friendly face at SupShip Charleston for over a decade and later moved to Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS) until retiring in 2004.
Sandra will be remembered for her caring nature, bright smile, and friendliness to all she came in contact. She dedicated countless hours of service to others through mission work at the various churches her and her family attended over the years. Sandra was a leader of the WMU team at Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church, was the Hospitality Chair and an active member of the choir at Cooper River Baptist Church, and shared her sewing talents through the Busy Hands ministry at Highland Park Baptist Church.
Sandra’s most treasured time was with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, supportive aunt, and kind sister. Sandra enjoyed spending time and meals with her extended family both near and far. She showed her love through her time and talents of sewing for those close to her. Her love and dedication as a mother was evident in her care for her daughter, Andria, through her over 15 year battle with illness. Sandra’s favorite role was being a grandmother to her two grandsons.
Sandra is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Charles M. Cole “Donald”; daughter and son in law, Maria and Joseph Davis; and two grandsons, Benjamin and Henry, all of Hanahan, SC. She also leaves behind four siblings, Buddy (Patty) Brown of Summerville, SC; Vanessa (Bill) Rhodes of North Charleston, SC; Wayne (Cathy) Brown of North Charleston, SC; and Richard (Sheryl) Wheeler of Dade City, FL.
