Ricardo Romualdo Martin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born on February 7, 1932, in Tapaste, Cuba, to Concepcion Martin and Maria Hernandez, Ricardo was one of seven children—Emiliano, Abraham, Eloina, Leandro, Evelia, and Pedro—raised in a close-knit and loving family.
In 1962, Ricardo married the love of his life, Maria, in Havana. Together, they welcomed their son, Richard, in 1967. In pursuit of a brighter future, Ricardo and Maria bravely left their homeland, first moving to Spain in 1971 and eventually settling in Los Angeles, California, in 1974. There, they built a full and joyful life surrounded by family and friends. The couple shared 60 beautiful years of marriage before Maria’s passing in November 2022.
Ricardo was a man of quiet strength, unwavering love, and deep dedication to his family. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures— daily phone calls with loved one, cheering on the Dodgers and watching family Feud, and traveling the world with Maria by his side. But above all, his greatest pride and joy was his family.
He is lovingly survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Audrey; his grandchildren Ashley, Jackie, Melissa, Ben, and Sam; and his great-granddaughter Abigail. His legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
