Dad was a handsome, fun loving, energetic, soul that enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an intelligent, feisty man that loved big & cared deeply about all that crossed his path. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, protective brother, caring uncle, & amazing friend.
Ron selflessly served our country in the United States Air Force in his younger years. He valued every moment of his military journey and was beyond proud to serve. Another career favorite was being a truck driver. Dad fell in love with the open road. He drove a semi truck for over 40 years and was happiest when he was on the road, working or just taking a drive. He made sure his truck stopped at the local donut shop each morning before work. Dad retired from the trucking industry in 2006, but missed it everyday. He was also an avid car lover. Dad started out racing cars early on. He often enjoyed working on and showing his vehicles. He belonged to various car clubs in the San Fernando Valley at one time or another.
During his retirement, he enjoyed making friends, visiting new places, going out to eat, playing with his puppies, hanging out with his daughters and son in laws, listening to original country and western music, watching westerns, and of course playing with his model trains. Dad valued being a part of the Tehachapi Loop Railroad Train Club in Tehachapi, CA. During sports seasons, Dad loved to cheer on the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49er's.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Nancy and her husband Jose, his daughter, Jaeneen, his sister, Judy, his puppies Lexxi and Sassi, granddaughter Autumn, grandson, Ron and countless friends that became part of the family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, his parents Violet and Dallas, his son Ron, his sister Glenda, his brother James, his brother Larry, and many other family members awaiting his return home.
Dad touched so many lives and will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever remain in our thoughts and our hearts. The bond he had with his daughters, sister, and puppies will live on forever.
Please join us in celebrating Ron's life and laying him to rest next to the love of his life.
