Sandy Lee Richards (maiden name, Needleman,(Blumstrom)) age 65, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Northridge Hospital in CA. She was born on Feb 6, 1954 in LA, CA to Marvin & Lillian Needleman & was the youngest of 4 children.
She was a 1972 graduate of John Marshall High. She studied word processing, programming & electronics at Pierce College. Sandy spent time in the computer field in the early 80's on one of the country's 1st computers. She also spent 15 years as a research asst for a financial co before her retirement.
Sandy was a free spirit who paved her own path & walked to the beat of her own drum. She acculturated her daughters by taking them to peace festivals all over, hands across america and various other volunteer organizations to show us how to make the world a better, more kind place for us all. She was a fearless adventuress, but especially when it came to nature. She would take her daughters deep into the forest where they would make their own campsites far into the desert to soak up the sun and quiet. She was happiest when surrounded by nature and spent many years volunteering with kittenrescue.org.
Sandy was a loving, kind & dedicated mother to her two daughters, Jennifer & Christin and a wonderfully fun & adoring grandmother to her amazing granddaughter, Pippi; the 3 of whom she is survived by. She also is survived by her Loving father Marvin Needleman, with whom she had a close and loving relationship, and brother Paul Needleman. Hearts that were touched by our mother are invited to her memorial ceremony held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10-11am at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary. 10621 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, 91606.
