Alan Lester Gold

Alan was exuberant and generous in spirit, treasured and loved by family and friends. Alan (birth-name Allen Lester Goldstein) was born in Boston, the son of the late John and Augusta (Cohen) Gold, and grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts. In Massachusetts Alan and Barbara resided in the towns of Sharon, Stoughton and Canton .

Alan founded Sunset Custodial Services, a commercial contract cleaning and ground maintenance business which operated in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Alan and Barbara lived life to its fullest, retiring to Boca Raton in the late 1990’s, playing golf, and bridge, and traveling the world. Alan was a longtime fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics.

Alan is survived by his sister Georgine (Russel) Gaull, daughter Diane

(Paul) Nyer, and sons Mark (Debbie) and Steven (Cathleen); grandchildren, Emily (Ira), Jonathon (Martha), Jeffrey (Victoria), Erica (Jason), Scott, Seth and Molly; and great-grandchildren Sasha, Whitney, Asher and Summer.
