Bernice Anna Ruga (Amdur) of Deerfield Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the age of 87. Bernice was born on December 14, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her loving husband, Irving Ruga; her sons Wayne Ruga of West Kirby, England; Elliott Ruga of Boonton, NJ; and Glenn Ruga of Concord, MA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kasey Ruga, Dylan Ruga, and Evan Ruga, and three great-grandchildren: Kaia, Jackson, and Marlo . Her brothers Bernard Amdur (her twin) and Henry (Hank) Amdur and sister Estelle Firstenberg all predeceased her. Bernice was very outgoing and developed many lasting friendships that endured through her years growing up in Brooklyn, raising a family in New Jersey, and enjoying retirement in Florida. She was an avid duplicate bridge partner and loved to play tennis, read, and be near the ocean. The family will be receiving guests at The Horizon Club, 1208 S. Military Trail, Apt. 2205, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442, from noon to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27.
