

Dahlia Corrine Francis, born on March 12, 1955, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, passed away peacefully at home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, Zonius Francis, and sister, Clementina Wright, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Dahlia was predeceased by her mother, Gwendolyn Williams, father, Albert Baker, and her beloved son, Charles Kelly (Patrick).
Dahlia’s life was devoted to her family, including her daughter, Yvette Grant; grandchildren, Corrine Hall and Iyanna Walters; and many friends who cherished her wisdom and kindness throughout the years. Dahlia grew up in St. Elizabeth, attended Slipe Primary School, and at age fifteen moved to Kingston to live with Ms. Enid Reed, where her passion for sewing blossomed.
In 1986, Dahlia migrated to the United States to provide a better life for her family, serving as a compassionate and skilled certified nursing assistant for forty years. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, resilience, and faith, instilling Jamaican heritage and values in her loved ones for generations.
Dahlia and her husband, Francis, reconnected in 2004 and spent twenty-one loving years together, fourteen of those as husband and wife. Their love was evident to all who knew them, and Francis was a steadfast caregiver during her illness.
She cared for Mrs. Evelyn Vogel and her daughter, Beverly, for over two decades, gaining recognition for her patience, empathy, and respect for her clients. Beyond her profession, Dahlia created joy with her home-cooked meals, gardening, sewing, watching HGTV, and hosting family gatherings rooted in faith and love.
Dahlia leaves behind a legacy of infectious laughter, wisdom, and warmth. Her life was a true testament to grace and strength, her spirit continues to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
In honor of Dahlia, an offering will be collected at the memorial service and donated to Ovarian Cancer Research.
A Nine Night / Wake will be held at Genesis Events Banquet Hall, located at 1431 S Pompano Pkwy, Pompano Beach, FL 33069, on September 26, 2025, starting at 6:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at The Power of Faith Ministries International, 6337 SW 27th St, Miramar, FL 33023, on September 27, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am.
The Committal Service will be conducted at Bailey Memorial, 7801 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, on September 27, 2025, starting at 12:30 pm.
