A family patriarch, he was a strong and steady presence in the lives of his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, leading his local synagogue minyan, and singing to his great-grandchildren. He loved cooking and sharing Syrian Jewish treats with anyone who would join him at the table. He was a proud World War 2 veteran, serving in France and Belgium in 1944 and 1945. He is deeply missed by all.
He was predeceased last year by Marian, his wife of 65 years. He is survived by his children Raina (Shashi), Lorece, Bruce (Cheryl); grandchildren Matthew, Allison (Colin), Meredith, Elana (Jonathan), Leora (Ariel), Anjali, David; and great-grandchildren Maytal and Devin. He leaves behind a brother, a sister, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
