Ellen was a very dear friend.  We shared many fun times together.  I will always remember her for her wonderful sense of humor,  good and caring heart and artistic talent.  I will miss her always but will never forget her.  May her memory be a blessing.

Ellen Kaufman was an artist, an adventurer and lover of good taste in food and design.  I encouraged her to make mosaics and she was a natural making stunning work.  She was devoted ESL teacher and we taught together for many years sharing life’s trials and tribulations.  She loved the theater and took her friend Carol and I to The King and I and we all had a great time.   Ellen could have certainly been a stand up comedian, she always made me laugh and everyone she encountered, even her doctors too.  Ellen was a kind, caring and generous friend, I will miss her deeply.  I love you dear Ellen and wish your journey filled with light and love.  

Ellen and I were friends  for over twenty years.  We met in graduate school at Hunter College, from where we both earned a Masters Degree in Education specialising in English as a Second Language.    
     Ellen had a wonderful sense of humour, and she could always make me laugh.  She was an excellent  elementary school teacher, and would jokingly refer to herself as Professor Kaufman.  
     From time to time we went to Madeline’s on West 72nd Street for facials.  After wards we would have lunch at a Japanese restaurant nearby.   
     Ellen loved the theatre.  I really enjoyed seeing “The King and I” with her, and her friend , Nina Sobel.    
     After retiring from teaching Ellen studied mosaic making.   She was very creative,   She showed her work in various art shows, and sold a number of her mosaics. 
     Ellen was very generous, and she always remembered my birthday.  
    I miss you, Ellen., my dear beautiful friend.
