Gerald Kerensky

Jerry was born on February 20th, 1944 in Norwich, CT to Max and Lillian Kerensky. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy and then CW Post on Long Island, and went on to work for Slater Electric in New York City where he met his wife Joyce Kerensky. Together, they moved to South Florida in 1975 where they started a family in Boca Raton, FL. That same year, Jerry co-founded and led Metra Associates, an electrical supply wholesale business in Deerfield Beach, FL, as President for almost 50 years. He grew Metra from 2 employees to nearly 20 associates covering the Southeast region.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, two children: Todd Kerensky (Jessica McIntire) and Megan Kerensky Burak (Jason Burak) and 5 grandchildren: Hillary (11), Sam (7), Jordan (2) Kerensky of South Easton, Massachusetts and Levi (10) and Harper (6) Burak of South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his brother Sol Kerensky and his wife Nancy, as well as their 4 children and their 8 grandchildren.

The family celebrated Jerry and Joyce’s milestone 50th wedding anniversary last October.

Jerry was a loyal friend, trustworthy confidant, omnipresent neighbor and community member having maintained residences and friends in Boca Raton, FL, Park City, UT, and South Easton, MA.

The funeral will be held Sunday April 12th at 10:30AM at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL, 33068
