Dear Judy And family, I am saddened to find out that your dad passed away last year. Your dad Harold my father SEymour were very close friends. Our families spent many a times together Rock Hill Middletown New York. I have very fond memories of your mom and dad as well as you and your sister. I spent many a weekend fishing with your dad my father Danny Schwartz the Kellners when we were younger.

Harold Kittay, born June 28, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, died February 27, 2015, in Lauderhill, Florida.  Survived by Daughter Judy Kittay Campbell, Grandchildren Jacob Kittay Maeroff, Michael Kittay Maeroff, & Amanda S. Campbell, and Great-Grandchildren Abraham K.G. Maeroff, Jonah K.G. Maeroff, & Fern A. Maeroff.  Preceded in death by Wife Helen Hoffman Kittay (1927-2013), Daughter Fern Kittay Maeroff (1949-2005), Mother Frieda (Feldman) Kittay (1897-1946), & Father Jacob Kittay (1890-1962).  

Harold, known as Hesh to his family and childhood friends, was born and grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, the son of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.  He served in the U.S. Army, 1944-1946, and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II, before being honorably discharged.  He enrolled at St. John's University before entering his family's hat business, Triangle Sport Headwear, where he worked for over six decades, rising ultimately to that company's Presidency.  He wedded Helen Hoffman, also of Brownsville, on June 20, 1948, a marriage that lasted for 65 years.  In 1962, Harold moved Triangle from New York City to Hialeah, Florida, and relocated with his family to nearby North Miami Beach.  He remained a South Floridian the rest of his life, subsequently relocating to Hollywood (1974), Boca Raton (1988), Boynton Beach (2003), and Lauderhill (2014).

Harold was very active in the Gold Coast Chapter of Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.  He will be remembered by those who loved him for his love of life, his sweet, gentle disposition, and his love for his family.
