Born on October 7, 1951, in The Bronx, New York, Jan was the daughter of Myron and Helene Wayne. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her brothers Larry and Donald.
Jan was married to her husband Hank for 52 years.
Together they had two daughters, Jennifer and Elizabeth, who brought immense joy to their lives. Janice welcomed into her heart her sons-in-law Joel and Kevin, embracing them as part of the family.
Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother.
She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, Noah, Andrew, Carolyn, and Emelia, who were truly the light of her life. Whether attending their music or sporting events or simply spending time together, Janice’s love for them was boundless and unwavering.
Jan loved attending line dancing and exercise classes.
Her enthusiasm was contagious, especially when it came to teaching the exercise classes, which brought her happiness and a connection with others. Her energy and spirit inspired many to move more freely and live more joyfully.
Janice had an extraordinary gift for making people feel remembered and loved. She never missed a birthday or anniversary and delighted in sending cards to mark special occasions. These thoughtful gestures were more than tradition—they were heartfelt expressions of how deeply she cared for those around her.
She is survived by her husband Hank; daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth; sons-in-law Joel and Kevin; grandchildren Noah, Andrew, Carolyn, and Emelia; and brother Larry. She was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Helene Wayne and brother Donald.
A memorial service will be held at Star of David Gardens in North Lauderdale. FL.
Donations in Janice’s memory are welcome to Cornerstone Hospice in gratitude for the compassionate care they provided during her final days.
Janice’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
