Joel Edward Katz, born on May 6, 1943, in the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. A longtime resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, Joel lived a full and memorable life—one built on resilience, humor, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Joel is lovingly remembered by his two children, Harris and Alyse, who will forever carry his strength and spirit within them. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, each of whom he loved deeply: Harris Jr., Christopher, Ryan, Blake, Garrett, and Nalanie. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law, Carinda, who he cherished, and his brother Robert, along with his brother-in-law Steven and his loving girlfriend Diane who made his life complete.
Joel was a man who valued family above all else. Though he often showed his love in quiet, subtle ways, it was always felt. He took tremendous pride in his children and grandchildren and found joy in watching them grow. His presence—equal parts stubborn, funny, outspoken, protective, and strong—will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
While words can never fully capture the weight of this loss, the stories, laughter, and love he shared will continue to live on through his family. Joel’s legacy is one of perseverance, loyalty, and a life lived boldly and on his own terms.
May his memory forever be a blessing.
