Apologies for the late post...I just found out about this sad loss.
Mrs. Yachter was my 5th grade teacher at PS 26 in The Bronx from 1967-68. She was my first schoolboy crush, and was a huge influence in my life. She was ahead of her time, teaching Spanish lessons, listing 10 new (big) words on the blackboard daily, and having us read the News Summary and Index section of the New York Times in class. I recall a time when I made a beloved green Papier-Mache horse with orange spots in art class. She said it was beautiful and asked if she could have it for her newborn baby boy's room. Of course, I said yes.
A few of us went over to see the baby, and there was the horse sitting on top of the dresser. It made me so proud. I never forgot her as I aged into maturity. Thanks to the Internet, I was able to connect with her back in 2011. We both lived in South Florida and were only about 40 minutes away from each other. We met for lunch and it seems that time stood still. She was still beautiful both inside and out (I asked for my beloved horse back...but it had rode off into the sunset of time!).
Holiday cards were exchanged after that and then the cards stopped.
I guess you really can't prevent time from marching on. I will always remember her for her caring and nurturing and making me all the better for it as an adult. May you rest in peace, my dear teacher.

all so loved by Millie. I can appreciate the feeling of loss you must
b e experiencing at this time. I am only a cousin, but my relationship with Millie was special. She was, in my imagination,
the kid sister I had always wanted. (In my immediate family,I
was the youngest of 4 siblings and I was referred to as the Baby
Sister.)
      I was devastated when the family moved toFlorida. Even though
our relationship changed  because we saw each other less often,
she was still the kid sister, then all grown-up, that I had always
wanted.
     I,too,mourn the loss of “My Kid Sister”.May she Rest In Peace.

Our hearts are so saddened by Millie’s passing. She has left a very big void. She was so very special. Her laughter and joyful demeanor touched all those around her. She was able to be friends with people of all ages and was loved by all. She will be dearly missed

My fondest memories are of our families growing up together; going to the beach and then stopping at Nathan's or barbecuing at the Yachter's afterwards - priceless memories. I remember amazing Fourth of July barbecue celebrations together, catching fireflies, setting off fireworks and many more amazing times.

I'm grateful for the recent opportunity I had to speak with Millie, not long ago, and reminisce with her about those wonderful times.  I remembered Millie as kind and loving, patient, and always so welcoming and positive.  She sounded just as I'd remembered.  Millie was a ray of sunshine.

Millie and I were friends as children in The Bronx along with Marlene and Fran. We did things that kids did, walked to school together, played ball games, jumped rope, etc. I treasure those memories. 
We lost touch after high school but thankfully reconnected six years ago. I am and will be forever thankful that we were able to spend time together when I would visit my sister and then see Mil. Talking on the phone and sharing experiences was wonderful. A special friend returned to me and now she is gone. 
When we love, we grieve. I will miss her not being here with us all. 

We have all lost a very good friend.  Mom (Annette) has been close friends with Millie since a trip to Europe in college, and even until recently would talk on the phone with her late at night sharing news of family and friends.  For us kids, no trip to Florida would be complete without seeing Millie and Sid; she and Sid were a highlight of our winter vacations.   It was wonderful to share family simchas with them and we will miss her terribly.   May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion; with love from the Fogelmans.

To know her was to love this most charming of people. Her smile , her laughter , her demeanor and her welcoming personality left those who were lucky enough to know her, with a gift for life. She was a person of spirit, compassion and always there to help the needy. To say she will be sorely missed is an understatement!
As for me, the grief is beyond words!  For myself and the many  that knew her, she will be  cherished and always be dearly loved. We have lost a very special and irreplaceable soul.
You were so beautiful, both within & without . You will always be in my heart, I will love  and cherish you forever! Your loving husband of almost 58years,
