I knew Perry when I worked for Quest Diagnostics before my retirement in 2011.  We became friends, shared meals and cocktails; and I heard about his sons and his happiness at finding his soulmate in Lisa.  We had lost touch in recent years, but I always valued his kindness, his wise counsel for the vagaries of work, and his positive attitude about life.  I was so sad to just learn of his passing.  My heart goes out to his family.
