Renee Bova, a native of Brooklyn, New York, was born on March 13, 1932, and peacefully passed away on January 29th, 2024, at the age of 91. She was one of the cherished children of Max and Delle Tarnofsky.
Devoted to her partner in life, Renee spent 73 beautiful years married to Phil Bova. Their journey together, marked by the usual highs and lows, was characterized by a profound love that transcended words.
Renee, affectionately known as Ronnie B, was not only a loving wife but also an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She made it a point never to miss sending birthday cards and delighted in calling each family member to sing them a heartfelt happy birthday.
Apart from her family role, Ronnie B enjoyed the thrill of gambling, although she took losses to heart. From horses and bingo to canasta, Texas Hold’em, and her favorite, 3-card poker, she embraced the excitement of games.
A great cook, Renee was renowned for her delectable creations, including chopped liver, noodle kugel, matzo ball soup, Sunday sauce, baked ziti, lasagna, and manicotti. Her annual tradition of making Zeppole’s during Christmas became a cherished treat for all.
While Renee may not have garnered awards or achieved monumental milestones, she won the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy lies in the lessons she imparted to her children — the values of hard work, independence, honesty, and love. For Renee, family was paramount, and the joy of being surrounded by loved ones during holidays was her true happiness.
Renee Bova's absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Star of David Memorial Chapel on January 31, 2024, at 2:45. May she rest in eternal peace.
