Wow, at first when people told me this, i was like "ya right, he aint dead" but after a while, I started relising he was gone, and not because of retirement. When i was in 6th grade in 2012, he told us that he was gonna retire with us, in 3 years
now im in 8th grade, thinking of this iorny......... i will always remember you.

Since the day I arrived at Plantation Middle , August 19 2013 , Mr.Lowy has ALWAYS been one of my favorite teachers . From the first day I entered the library . I'm just shocked to know that he's gone . My prayers go out to all of  family and friends .

I was just a Student of his this year , i could never pay him for everything he taught or told me . Never wonder why he was always on my Case ill never forget Such Wonderful Teacher of Mines He the Father Figure and made sure i didnt Follow the crowd . I always wouls brag how i'll come back in the Next four years to tell him i walked across that stage in graduated all because you told me everything is not easy i have to have a plan . R.I.P always in my Heart ?

I met Richard when I worked at Plantation Middle School. He was always busy helping students and staff solve problems. Richard had a good sense of humor and helped improve school spirit by getting bagels once a week for the staff. What a kind guy. I am so glad I got to met him but shocked about his sudden passing. He is with HaShem now. Dr. Suzi Spindler.

It is so difficult for us to believe that Richard is gone. He was the brother I never had. He was my confidant and friend. His calm and understanding demeanor was a rock that I could always depend upon. His loyalty and sense of humor, our back and forth give and takes, the birthday parties and 4th of Julys we all shared together...all of these will stay in my heart forever. 

Nathan and I have lost a true friend.

Adrienne, Joyce, Family, and Friends...I am still devastated by the sudden passing of my friend of over 5 decades. He was always there for not just his friends but for everyone. At the funeral service I mentioned him being a "Mench" in all aspects of life...After hearing other family and friends speak of Rich, he will definitely be voted into the "Mench Hall of Fame." I will miss my friend... Joyce, my heartfelt sympathy for the passing of your mom...

It has been many years since we saw Richard but we will always remember his wonderful personality and his love of laughter. Our sincerest condolences to you, Adrienne, and to your family.

Although it has been years, I think of Richard often as a neighbor and a classmate.  I am shocked that Richard passed at such a young age.

I always said Rich was the glue that held all of us together at Plantation Middle School.  Good and bad days were made perfect by his laughter.   Will miss you!!!!

I was sorry to hear that he passed, I have know Richard, his mom and sister since I was little.  He was a good friend of my mother's, from back in Bridgeport, CT.  Our family sends their condolences.

I will prefer to dwell on the Good Times in remembering Rich .  There is no doubt that he will be missed by his family and friends .

I remember the love in Richard's eyes when he witnessed the marriages of his daughters Jodie and Wendy, also how much he loved and cared for his wife Adrienne and how good he was to his family. He was a beautiful and decent man who will be dearly missed by many.

Bob and I will miss our cousin Richard for his sense of fun and kindness. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was really  a "gutta neshume", a good soul. We will never forget him. His soul enriches heaven.  Adrienne you know we love you and we stand by you always. All our love, cousins Gail and Bobby Zelko.

Adrienne.....sending love and sympathy to you to get through this hard time. Joyce...you and Richard were such an important part of my childhood. He was the King  and Mordechai to my Queen Esther on purim at Ahavath Achim. We made countless trips to Fairfield Beach together, fighting for who was going to sit by the window to see the garden. And we made forever memories at the Passover Seders with your grandparents on State Street! I am heartbroken for you, for all who knew and loved Richard. Always in my heart....L

Richard was a man who truly loved his family.  What a treasure to have had him in your lives and in your hearts forever more.  You made wonderful memories together.  Our sincerest condolences to the people he loved so much.  Arlene and Jerry

My cousin Richard was an amazing individual. His heart, good will and that sense of humor will be missed. Beautiful and fitting service. Ami Margolin Rome and I are so lucky we had him in our life - even if he left it way way too soon. Family reunions/events will of course carry on but will never quite be the same. All of our love to his entire family and strong network of friends- especially Adrienne Weinstein Lowy, Wendy Weinstein Hotchkiss, Jodie Weinstein Douglas, Dervonne Douglas, Eric Rosenblum, Jamie Rosenblum Lichtenstein, Brad Lichtenstein, Eileen Rosenblum and Harvey Rosenblum

My sincere sympathy to Richard's family.  I worked at City Trust Bank in Bridgeport, CT with Richard.  He was always kind and considerate.  I was
lucky enough to be invited to see several Yankee games.  Again, my sympathy to his wife Adrienne, his sister and his Mother.

Adrienne,We will never forget Richard and how loving and generous he was. You are in our daily prayers and we want you to know if you ever need anything we are here for you.

Richard was a devoted family man. He, and Adrienne, were always there to help and support my parents in Florida. i will always be grateful for that. We grew closer over the past months. He was there when I needed him. I love him and will miss him dearly. He is in heaven now with so many loved ones who will take care of him and love him. Rest peacefully.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I'm going to miss his since of humor. I remember bringing my class to the media center and he would jokingly tell the class, "I hate kids." Not surprisingly none of the kids ever believed him because he had such a warm and loving spirit. They would harassed and  tease him back. I'll miss our candid conversations and your advice.  You will truly be misses.

To Adrienne and the rest of his immediate family: the kids and I are sorry to not be there for you, but we pass along our love, prayers, and hugs. As others have noted, Richard's sudden smile and laugh will be missed, especially after his deadpanned one liners, and also his quick handshake and happy greetings. His utter lack of pretense is a humbling example: he was always polite to everyone, enjoyed quality time with anyone, and I have no recollection of him being truly angry in the little time we shared. As I told my wife & kids, Richard's memory is a blessing to us, and may we at least use the sad shock of his passing as a wake up call to conduct ourselves so that, when our own time comes, others will feel the same about us. Although I'm not an undertaker, I believe Richard fulfilled Mark Twain's quip about living so that even the undertaker is sorry to see him pass.

Richard always greeted me with a smile and kind word when I volunteered. So very sorry for your loss.  He will be missed.

As I light this candle in memory of my friend and colleague, I offer my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family, and know that your spirit lives on in the hearts they have left behind.

Under his sometimes gruff exterior was a teddy bear of a man, always willing to lend a helping hand.  It is with shock and a grieving heart that we say good-bye to our friend and colleague all too soon.  We will miss your winning smile, your humor that would brighten our day, and your larger than life presence.  Farewell my dear friend.  Rest in peace
