Born Ruth Hahn on July 8, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York to Benjamin and Jenny Hahn; married Dr. Philip Harold Mann, PhD, in 1952, and together they raised three children: Jeffrey Mann, Brenda Mann Zalka, and Lisa Mann. Ruth is survived by her three children; eight grandchildren: Adam, Chase, David, Jacqueline, Jacob, Jennifer, Jordin, and Zachary; and six great-grandchildren, Addison, Airius, Brooke, Elle, Joseph, and Maximus.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip Mann, her parents, Benjamin and Jenny Hahn, and her brother and sister, Greg Hahn and Marsha Grossman.
Ruth was a cofounder and co-owner of the House of Learning, a then visionary school program for children with learning disabilities. Ruth served as principal and director for over two decades. Her legacy continues with the house of Learning operating today. Ruth was known for her loyalty and wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the world, crossword puzzles, playing Mahjong with her friends, and was a fan of chocolate ice cream and sweets.
A celebration of Ruth Mann's life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at The Star of David Chapel and Cemetery, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, Florida 33068.
