Born on December 30, 1995, in Kingston, Jamaica, Shaquille was the cherished second child of Raymond McKenzie and Allison Nugent-McKenzie. He was raised in Portmore, St. Catherine, before emigrating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2016.
Shaquille was a vibrant soul whose passions brought joy to all who knew him. He had a deep love for music and dancing, often sharing his latest moves with family and friends. His creativity extended to experimenting with unique food combinations, delighting those around him with his culinary adventures. A skilled car enthusiast, he enjoyed fixing and customizing vehicles, a hobby he shared with his father and brothers.
Beyond his talents, Shaquille was known for his infectious laughter and unwavering positivity. He had an extraordinary ability to find joy in the little things, whether it was introducing his family to a new cheesy movie or TV show, learning the latest dance craze, or simply spending quality time with loved ones.
A 2019 graduate of Broward College with an Associate of Arts degree with honors, Shaquille was a dedicated sales representative at LBU Lighting. His commitment to his work and his colleagues was evident, and he took great pride in his professional achievements.
Shaquille's selflessness and reliability were cornerstones of his character. He was always there for his family, whether it was driving three hours to Orlando with his baby sister to ensure her well-being, assisting his older brother with a move from Georgia by taking a plane ride there and driving back down to South Florida the following day, driving his younger brother around to help him sell phones, helping his move, build furniture or even fixing their cars by driving all the way to Miami to jumpstart it or supporting his father with household projects. His mother fondly remembers his playful antics, often leaving the room with a "dramatic exit” as he would call it.
Shaquille is survived by his parents, Raymond McKenzie and Allison Nugent-McKenzie; his older brother, Raymond; his younger brother and sister, Richardo and Alyssa; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss his warmth, humor, and unwavering support.
