She was born on July 7, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Oran and Ernestine Ross. She was a graduate of Capital City Business College in Little Rock and worked for many years as a secretary. She was a long-time member of Park Hill Christian Church, a loyal, caring and thoughtful friend and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was known for her strong faith, for being organized and detail-oriented and for always taking care to look her best.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harold Hampton of North Little Rock; her parents; her stepfather, Charles Gundlach; and a sister, Dorothy Whiteaker.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara and son-in-law George Arnold of Springdale; grandsons Nick (Brandy) Arnold of Bentonville and Bob Arnold (Karen Strachan) of Memphis, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ingrid Arnold of Bentonville; a sister, Charlotte (Mack) Beasley of Pleasanton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Park Hill Christian Church in North Little Rock or to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. The family wishes to express its appreciation to Circle of Life Hospice, to Brookstone Assisted Living in Fayetteville and to Presbyterian Village in Little Rock.
