Clyde Edward Venable, 83, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, went home to the Lord. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Delbert Venable and Betty Jean Venable Sheridan. Clyde graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1959 and then attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he received a bachelor degree with a double major in Chemistry and Math. Clyde was tall in stature with a loving heart for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Clyde worked for Entergy of Arkansas (Arkansas Power & Light) and retired in 2003. He had many fond memories of his work and friends there. He loved to travel and cruise seeing many countries and enjoyed his retirement. He was a fierce competitor on the tennis court and was very proud to say that he was a runner completing many marathons.
Clyde was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and loved Jesus as his Savior. He had a life full of love for his family, friends and his dogs.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 33 years, Sheri Venable; sons, Craig Venable of Jacksonville, FL, Chris Venable of Frisco, TX, Brent Stane (Rhonda) of Benton, AR, and Shawn Stane (Dawn) of Sherwood, AR; grandchildren, Colby Eddington (Maria), Brandon Stane (Morgan), Zachary Venable, and Grayson Stane; great-grandchildren, Sutton and Baker Stane, and Weston Eddington.
Services will be held Tuesday Aug. 5, 2025 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR, 72117. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM followed by A Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM with Burial at 3:00 PM located at Rest Hills Memorial Park, in North Little Rock, AR.
