

Gary Wayne Kern, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on December 27, 2024, at his home in Jacksonville, Arkansas, with his devoted wife by his side. Born on November 23, 1933, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Ross and Virginia Kern, Gary led a life marked by service, adventure, and love.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Gary spent years dedicating himself to his country. After retiring, he continued to live life to the fullest, embracing his passions with zest. An avid golfer, he spent countless hours on the course, always chasing that perfect swing. He enjoyed staying active and fit, with regular workouts that kept him young at heart. Above all, Gary cherished his time spent with friends, especially around the poker table, where laughter and camaraderie flowed freely.
Gary’s life was full of love, and he is deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Virginia Kern.
Gary leaves behind his loving wife, Vivian Kern, and their blended family, which includes three children: Kimberly (Byron) Bowman, Stephanie Lynn Webster, and Mickey Wayne Kern; stepson Andrew King; as well as many cherished grandchildren, family members, and friends from across the country, including Las Vegas and Tennessee.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy of love, humor, and resilience will continue to inspire those he touched.
