He was proceeded in death by his parents Hazel and George Hamby, a sister Erlene Hamby and two brothers Charles Lee Hamby and Kenneth Hamby.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice Hamby; one sister, Carolyn Temple; a son, George William Hamby, Jr.; two daughters, Lisa Hawkins and Amy Floyd; two step-sons Dale and David Campbell; two step-daughters Cheryle Stacy and Debbie Kennedy and a host of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill was a high school athlete. He loved all things sports, the Razorbacks, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed fishing, word search puzzles, and gardening.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 9:00 AM at Rest Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
