

Dr. James. L. Hagler, 96, of Little Rock, AR passed away June 1, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born September 15, 1928, in Lockesburg, AR to Malvin Luther Hagler and Anita Ellen Keener. A native of Little Rock, AR, he attended Little Rock High School, University of Arkansas- Pre- Med, and UAMS- Medical School. Finally, he attended The University of Texas in Galveston. Dr. Hagler served in the United States Army, First Army, Fourth Armored Division, where he attained the rank of Captain and served as Chief medical Officer (OB-GYN). Dr. Hagler had a private practice as an OB-GYN for over 42 years. He was passionate about his practice of medicine and was both well respected and well-loved by his patients. A pioneer in the use of laser surgery, he developed technics still utilized today. Dr. Hagler was a member of the American Medical Association, past President of Pulaski County Medical Exchange, served on the Board of Trustees at Baptist Hospital, and St. Vincent Infirmary, and numerous Medical Advisory Boards. Dr. Hagler was a member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending time in Palm Desert, California, and traveling the world. He met friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger.
He had two sons, the late Jay Hagler who passed away in 1984, and surviving son, Eric Hagler, extended family and many friends.

A private family graveside was held at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock, AR.
