

Joan D. Hill of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, February 9th. She was born in Hoxie, Arkansas to parents Bunk Hodge, Sr. and Estelle Jarrett Hodge on November 11, 1936. On September 7, 1957 she married the love of her life, Donnie D. Hill and remained his wife and partner for 58 years. Joan referred to herself as a Homemaker, as that was her priority, but she was also involved in an array of church and civic activities. She always looked for an opportunity to help others. Joan was a sales representative for Avon for over 42 years, attaining the top sales award in Arkansas numerous times and nationally as well. Joan was also an astute businesswoman who helped Don in running their multiple successful business ventures. She bonded with everyone she came in contact with. Joan loved to garden, growing and protecting an abundance of crepe myrtles and thrift in her yard every year. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Little Rock, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She was also a member of the Florence Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Joan is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bunk Hodge, Jr., Darrell Hodge and Dempsey Hodge. She leaves behind her cherished family; husband Donnie D. Hill, daughter Kim Tipton and son-in-law, Charles Tipton; grandchildren Joshua Tipton, Sr. and wife , Becca, Jacob Tipton and wife, Ashlynne and Lacey Tipton Spradlin and husband Erik; great-grandchildren Joshua Dean Tipton, Jr., James Matthew Tipton , Isabella Annmarie Tipton and Temperance Ruth Carol Spradlin; brother Billy Ray Hodge and wife Pat and sisters Elaine Casten and Patricia Cupples along with many loving friends, nephews and nieces.
