John J Shatzer

John J Shatzer, age 72, of Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1952, in Little Rock, AR to the late John and Flora Mae Shatzer. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

John was a man with a sharp wit and a heart full of kindness, known for his ability to bring laughter to any room. A devoted fan of fantasy worlds, he found joy in games like Destiny and immersed himself in the pages and screens of The Wheel of Time, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings. He cherished quiet moments fishing on Lake Conway, where the water mirrored his calm and accepting spirit. John adored his beloved fur babies, who brought him endless comfort and companionship. He faced life’s surprises with grace, never seeing challenges as negatives but as opportunities to grow. Above all, his family will miss his gentle nature, unwavering kindness, and the way he embraced everyone without judgment.

Those left to cherish John's memory include his wife, Kathy Sue Shatzer; sons, Eric Shatzer, Stephen (Heather) Shatzer, Jonathan (Shannon) Shatzer; cherished friend, Celeste Shatzer, as well as many beloved grandchildren.

A memorial service for John will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
