Johnny worked at Central Arkansas Water for 16 years as a system’s control operator. He was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church for 45 years, where he was a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He loved traveling across the country with his family and RVing whenever possible. He was also an avid gardener and collector of old coins. He loved candy and chocolate. He was the protector of his family and he loved unconditionally. He was always the one to turn to whenever anyone needed anything.
Proceeded in death by his parents Sallie Bird and Moody Bird Sr. and his siblings David Eagle, Audrey Franks, Beatrice Bevans, Jeff Eagle, Woodrow Bird, Moody Bird Jr., Apsie Murray, Robert Bird, and son-in-law Damon Tipton. Surviving family members are his wife, Linda Bird, children Johnny Benje Bird and Christy Bird Tipton, grandchildren Kyle Bird, Devin Bird, Kayla Oates and husband Alex Oates, Jasper Tipton, and Christian Tipton, and great grandchildren Zayden Bird and Avianna Bird, his sister Sally Dunn, sister in-law Janet Powell, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also, his loyal dog Bella who enjoyed their late night popcorn treats together. And a plethora of friends along the way.
