

Marshall D Smith, 80, of Vilonia went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2017. Born in North Little Rock, he loved serving in his community through his banking career, service in government, and his church.
Marshall was a retired banker of 42 years. He enjoyed being active in city government and loved his visits to city hall. Marshall also served his country in the Air National Guard.
Marshall was always active in church and considered following Christ as his most important decision. He currently was an active member of Vilonia First Baptist. Marshall was also a singer and pianist and enjoyed singing every chance he got. In 1972 Marshall and his wife helped form the Gospel Tones Quartet, traveling throughout Arkansas for over 40 years.
Marshall was well respected and a man of integrity. He never met a stranger, treated everyone with kindness, and greeted them with his infectious smile.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents Marshall H. and Autie Owen Smith. He leaves behind the love of his life for 58 years, Edith, of Vilonia; two children, Michael (Valerie) Smith of Cabot and April (Russell) Burroughs of Vilonia; Four grandchildren, Kelli (Scott) Williams and Kristi Smith both of Brighton, CO, Faith Burroughs of Vilonia and Brent Burroughs of Conway; Three great-grandchildren, Nickolas Williams, Spencer Williams; and a great-granddaughter to be born in August. He also had a special love for his grand-dog, Copper. Marshall also leaves behind a large host of cousins and friends.
