Mildred F. Lumley, age 78, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Millie was born in Dell, Arkansas on October 6, 1943 to parents Raymond W. and Lela Bell Lucy.
Millie met Ted Lumley in her teenage years and were married on November 19, 1960. She enjoyed working in the pet department at TG & Y and at Toys Plus, but enjoyed being a homemaker even more allowing her to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. She was married to her beloved husband, Ted for 59 years. Together they had 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren with another on the way.
She loved all kinds of birds, but blue birds were her favorite. She was an expert flower gardener and could bring any flower back to life. Each year she looked forward to taking her annual trip with her 4 sisters, "the golden girls." This was always the highlight of her year. She also loved Christmas and displaying her collection of nut crackers and snowmen. Game night was another favorite of hers and she was always prepared to call out the numbers for Bingo and give away prizes.
Millie is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Lumley; father, Raymond W. Lucy; and mother, Lela Bell Lucy. Left to celebrate her memory are her three daughters, Robin Harcrow, DeeDee Smith, and Michelle Cross (VT. Cross); her four sisters, Imogene Dickerson, Shirley Clements, Helen Tyler (Alton Tyler), and Gail James; a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives were touched by her caring and generous spirit. A private service will be held for the family, after the service she will be laid to rest at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
