

Alan Lipton, 96, has passed on peacefully, leaving a loving family to remember him with pride and affection. Al was born in South Philadelphia where he was an organizer of Sigma Alpha Rho fraternity, and where in Northeast Philadelphia the legendary Cissie's Linen Closet was the culmination of his years in the world of business. Al was the founder and originator of The Joy of Yiddish club in Hollywood, Aventura, and Sunny Isles, Florida. Many enjoyed his sweet nature as a wonderful friend. Al's wife, Hannah Lipton, joyfully shared many years of love and adventure with him. His loving sister, Rose Lowenstein adored her "baby brother." Al will be missed by his children, Lonnie Lipton Colan, Harris (Nancy) Lipton, step-son, Michael (Francesca) Friedman, grandchildren, Jordana (Larry) Schneider, Jonathan (Lori) Colan, Jamie (Brian) Schlorf, Rachel (Robert) Reilly, and great grandchildren Dylan, Sydney, Spencer, Maxwell, Julia, Ellery, Michael, and Griffin, and step Grandchild, Joey Friedman. Predeceased by his first wife, Cissie and brothers Phil, Ed, and Dan. He also leaves his Nieces Eleanor, Judie, Susan, and nephew Jay. Services will be held on Sunday November 16, 2014 10 am at Temple Beth El Hollywood.
After the services, Mrs. Hannah Lipton will receive mourners at 21205 Yacht club Drive, Aventura in the Cascade Room.
