I was thinking about my time as a doctoral student at NYU, and Dr Pedhazur popped into my head, which led me to find this obituary. Despite the fact that statistics & research methods did not come easily to me, Dr Pedhazur was one of my favorite professors. He made difficult concepts understandable and did so with patience & kindness. His cheerful manner  created such a positive energy in his class that I actually looked forward to, rather than dreaded, learning stats.  I admired him very much. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Pedhazur was one of the truly inspirational professors/persons in my life as a doctoral student at NYU. Kind, open to help and always encouraging, I hold him in the highest esteem--a place he will always hold for me. The world was a better place, statistics was greatly improved by his contributions to multiple regression analysis and his textbook remains the most important work in the field. He was so impressive in this that his mentor at Columbia University told him to only include his name on the second edition of the textbook because he had made the major contributions to its content. God Bless him. 

Mr. Pedhazur was my teacher in Middle school in Brooklyn, NY. He was studying at NYU for his graduate degrees and taught us as his day job. He was the most inspirational teacher of my growing up years. He exposed me to Plato, to James Joyce, to philosophy and to thinking. I have never forgotten how inspirational he was. He was also very handsome and interesting as well. It was a privilege to have a person of his caliber be my 6th through 8th grade teacher. I have never forgotten him and I will always keep his memory alive in my heart.
