Kenneth Allan Jacobs, of Pembroke Pines, passed away November 5, 2024, tenderly held in love and respect. Born March 17, 1949 on Miami Beach, Kenny was a charming, precocious kid, immensely likable, and a natural athlete (terrific swimmer, diver, and water skier, with a great arm). An alumnus of the Graham-Eckes School, he graduated Florida State University in 1971 and remained a diehard Seminoles fan. He was intensely patriotic and honorably served his country in the Army Reserves. He succeeded at diverse careers in the hotel, concrete, and cement industries and in real estate, winning multiple awards. A savvy wiz at numbers, he researched and invested smartly and creatively for his large family. He tirelessly and exceptionally coached his kids in softball for many seasons, winning several regional tournaments, one national, and one world.
He was humble about his achievements, kind and generous, loyal, wide open with his affection, quick (and sweetly devilishly) witted, and highly intelligent. He was deeply and honestly religious; G-d and Torah were his guides. And, he felt lucky and grateful for all the blessings in his life.
He was a Pied Piper, making friends wherever he went; he “adopted” so many as family. He welcomed everyone into his home and tried to help when he saw need. He loved all the living creatures of the earth and cared for many of them.
He was the best, most trusted brother and a wonderful son, grandson, and uncle. His world, though, was his wife, children, and grandchildren. He put himself last. He lived by the creed of Family First and did everything he could to assure they were safe, secure, protected, and provided for. He loved them fiercely, unshakably, and unconditionally.
Predeceased by beloved parents Enid LaVine and Paul Jacobs. Adored by his wife, Cheryl. Deeply loved and respected by: his children, Sidney Jacobs, Dorothy (Jeff) Stewart, Elizabeth Jacobs (Rick Anderson), Rebecca Jacobs and Ariel (Daren) McNay; grandchildren, Sydney (Leonel), Ethan, Paul, Shawn, Austin, Emma, Skyler, Maverick, Hannah, Jacob, Allie, Johnny, Charlie, Haley, Ryan, and Bodhi; great grandchildren, Hendrix and Havanna. Little sister, Suzan (Mark) Farber; Doting Nephews and nieces, Saul (Carly) Farber and Leyah (Alex) Colcord; his children’s mother, Sandra Knobel, his lifelong friend and mother of his children; sister-and brother-in-law, Debora and Marc Lynn; and his very own Noah’s Ark of beloved pets. Loving thanks to Rabbi Pinny and Gitty Andrusier for their over-and-above devotion. Special thanks to the compassionate medical staff at Memorial Hospital West.
Kenny lived a life of meaning and mitzvah. He earned for himself a good name and legacy for which his family is forever proud and grateful. May his memory always be for a blessing. All our love, all our lives.
