Terry was born in West Palm Beach FL in 1940 and grew up on Miami Beach, participating in sea scouts, sports, and many other activities. As a teen, Terry and his lifelong best friend Gary Brooks worked as cabana boys at the then brand new Fountainbleu hotel. Terry had the good fortune of meeting Marcia Mallinger of Ft. Lauderdale in 1959, and they married in December 1963. Theirs has been a love and partnership for the ages.
Terry graduated from Miami Beach High School in 1958, received his baccalaureate degree at the University of Florida in 1962, and earned his medical degree at the University of Miami in 1967. After beginning his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Miami, Terry joined the US Air Force in 1969, serving two years and reaching the rank of Major at Shaw AFB in South Carolina.
After returning to Miami in 1971, Terry finished his residency and in 1973 went into private practice with his mentor Dr. Joseph DeCenzo, and Dr. Robert Cassidy. Later joined by partners Dr. Spencer Kellogg and Dr. Omar Pasalodos, their group quickly became one of the preeminent OB/GYN practices in Florida. They had a reputation for an unparalleled standard of care, compassion, bedside manner, and positive outcomes for women and babies. Terry had a huge heart and he delighted in bringing new lives safely into the world.
Terry was generous with his love, his time, and his money. He adored his 8 grandchildren and his great granddaughter and loved being their ‘Pepa.’ He loved boating and fishing in South Florida's pristine waters, snow skiing in the Rockies, golfing at Deering Bay, and traveling across the US and the world, and sharing those adventures with his family and friends. Terry had an exceptional sense of humor, and he filled our lives with great fun and endless laughter. He was an ardent supporter of the many causes he believed in, among them URJ Camp Coleman, Temple Beth Am, the Alper JCC, the American Heart Association, and Casa Valentina.
Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Albert U. and Charlotte (Furman) Reisman, and his dear brother Edwin S. Reisman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Marcia, his children Andrew & Elizabeth Reisman, Jill & Rob MacGregor, and Jeff & Kacie Reisman, his grandchildren Jared, Robert, Micah, Charlie, Caroline, and Eliana Reisman, Julia and Matthew MacGregor, and his great granddaughter Charlotte. We will cherish his memory and miss him forever.
Terry's funeral will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at Temple Beth Am (5950 N. Kendall Dr, Pinecrest FL 33156) followed by a procession to Mount Nebo Miami Memorial Gardens (5505 NW 3rd St, Miami FL 33126).
