Ludovic Michelet Desroches

April 30, 1934 – August 1, 2024

Ludovic Michelet Desroches was born to Emmanuel Desroches and Philomene Chavannes on April 30th, 1934 in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. He departed this earthly life on Thursday August 1st, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.

At the age of eight, he lost both his parents and was raised by his aunt Sylvia Chavannes, whom also was deceased during his adolescent years. Rather than being vulnerable and lonely, Ludovic turned to hope and his faith in God for comfort. And True to his character, he persevered.

In the late 1950’s, he met his wife Marguerite Ketty Jean-Louis, and together they have eight children, Marie Mercie, Marie Michelle, Roselyn, Marie Karlyne, Alex, Pierre Alfred, Patrick, and James Carlo. Later, Ludovic immigrated to Florida in 1974 to better care for and support his family.

Ludovic was a symbol of an industrious man, with high integrity and pride. He worked at Calder Racehorse for twenty-four years. And after his retirement, he devoted his time to bonding with his children as well as spending quality time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

When his time came, he carried himself with strength, dignity, and respect. As we mourn the loss of Ludovic, we can all take comfort in the fact that he gave us everything within his power and now his sufferings are no longer.
