Luis Martinez-Vega

After completing the sixth grade, Don Luis began his apprenticeship under the tutorage of a Master Wood Craftsman. Quickly becoming a Master Wood Craftsman himself, he began creating all sorts of beautiful objects, including elaborate carvings, extravagant furniture and cabinets, as well as balcony balustrades.

Don Luis is survived by his wife of over 75 years, Josefa, his daughters Sylvia and Carmen, his sons Rafael and Adolfo, as well as a myriad of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Younger siblings Margarita, Miguel, Armando and Yolanda also survive him.

Don Luis’ remains will be displayed for viewing at Southern Memorial Funeral Home, on Thursday March 14th, from 3:00 P.M. until Midnight and Friday March 15th, from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park on Friday March 15th at 11:00 A.M. Southern Memorial Funeral Home is located at 15011 West Dixie Highway in North Miami, Florida.
