Marie Venante Louis Jeune was born on December 26, 1949, in Haiti, to Celia Louis Jeune and the late Odilon Louis. She grew up alongside her sisters Jesula Nelson, Solange Simon, and Imène Moreau, in a family rooted in faith and values.
She attended Sœur Salésienne and Collège Bird in Haiti, before beginning her professional career at Lioto Industrial. In 1970, she married Cameau Paul, and together they built a loving home blessed with seven children: Marie Chantal Paul, Jean Garry W. Paul, Jean Gachelin Paul, Junie Nadège Paul, Marie Sophonie Paul, Esther Kethia Paul, and Charmie S. Paul. Over time, her family grew to include 27 grandchildren, as well as devoted sons-in-law Amos Étienne, Abner Valce, and David Joseph, and daughters-in-law Sandrine Jean and Marie Ange.
Marie also shared strong bonds with her extended family, including cousins Luc Louis, Fritzner Louis, Molière Louis, Esaïe Louis, Anite Louis, Maxile Louis Chevalier, Mathide Louis, and Alerte Louis Jeune, as well as many nephews and nieces who cherished her deeply.
A woman of unwavering faith, Marie was a devoted member of Église Bellevue Thor in Haiti, where she actively participated in many groups, especially the “Vers Jésus” missionary group, and joyfully sang in the church choir. After moving to Miami, Florida in 1995, she found a new spiritual family at the Église de Dieu Indépendante, while continuing to support her missionary church in Haiti financially.
Marie was a prayerful and devoted mother, leading her children in daily devotions and teaching them to love God, study His Word, and show respect—especially toward their elders. Her home was open and welcoming, often described as a place of refuge, where family, friends, and even those in need could always find care, warmth, and kindness.
She was known as a sweet and generous woman, always ready to help others, with a personality that left a lasting influence on everyone around her. Beyond her faith and service, she also enjoyed crocheting and cooking, often preparing meals for her children and grandchildren with love.
Marie was also known for her discipline, respect, and sense of responsibility. Though she endured a long period of illness and spent time in a nursing home, she was never without the support of her loving family, especially her devoted husband, who remained faithfully by her side until the end.
On August 11, 2005, God called Marie home, ending her earthly suffering. Though she is deeply missed, her heritage of faith, love, and devotion lives on through her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all who were touched by her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith in God.
Her memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
