On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Rosalie Elizabeth Pudwill Field Keys passed away peacefully at home in Miami Shores, FL surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 91. She lived her life with strength, faith, love, and courage, sharing her generosity and compassion with everyone. Born on December 29, 1928 in Herreid, South Dakota, Rosalie was one of nine children to Christine and Henry Pudwill, both of whom predeceased her. She married Charles Robert “Bob” Field on September 6, 1952, and together they had three sons before her husband, Bob, passed away in 1963. While raising her sons primarily on her own, Rosalie worked as an executive assistant at the FAA, then as an executive assistant to the Dean of Barry University's School of Business, where she also earned her Bachelor’s Degree. On March 7, 1987, Rosalie married James C. Keys, who predeceased her in 2011.
Rosalie was a faithful and long-time parishioner, Eucharistic minister, choir member, and volunteer at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She is survived by her siblings (Lauretta Mayhew, Martha Lowe, Joseph Pudwill, and Mary Neuland), her sons (Robert Alan Field (Karen), John William Field (Theresa), and Paul Henry Field (Carol)), her stepsons (James Keys, Daniel Keys, and Thomas Keys), her grandchildren (Caitlin Field, Heather Field, Andrew Field, Kenneth Field, and Nicole Field), and her step grandchildren (Christine Mehler Buck, Jason Mehler , and Matthew Mehler). Rosalie’s siblings, Caroline, Edwin, Henry, Paul, and her step-daughter, Jeanette Mehler, predeceased her.
Viewing will be at Caballero Rivero Southern Funeral Home located at 15011 W. Dixie Hwy., Miami, on Thursday, May 21st from 6-8 p.m. A mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church located at 415 N.E. 105th St., Miami Shores, on Friday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. There will be a graveside service at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery (across from the funeral home) immediately following mass.
