Bonnie Lee (Guarascio) Clark, age 81, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on December 27, 2024, after experiencing complications from chemotherapy treatment. Bonnie was born on November 21, 1943, to Sandino and Bernice Guarascio in Chicago, IL. She was the second oldest of 5 children and the family grew up in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois.
Bonnie graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1962. Bonnie’s only child (Michael Mazutis) was born on August 7, 1969 when she was married to Tony Mazutis. They moved to northern Wisconsin in 1971 to own and operate a resort. Bonnie never embraced the cold climate the years she lived in Wisconsin and eventually Perham, Minnesota, however, some of her fondest memories and great friends in her life were born from the challenges and opportunities she experienced. Life events eventually led her further south with each change residing in the Twin Cities, Raleigh, Knoxville, Jacksonville, and eventually Palm Beach County, Florida. Bonnie worked hard all her life and wherever she landed found employment in banking or insurance.
Bonnie found peace and happiness in Florida. She was blessed with great friends in Florida who provided her with endless support, love, and laughter. Bonnie enjoyed her visits up north, whether it was at her son’s cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin and time with her grand puppies or in Chicago with family. She had a sparkle in her eye and pride in her voice whenever she talked about her favorite daughter-in-law or her great-nieces and great-nephews in Chicago. It is what truly fueled Bonnie in recent years.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Sandino and Bernice Guarascio. She is survived by her son Michael (Marni) Mazutis, her brother Sandy (Darlene) Guarascio, sister Linda (Gary) Howard, her brothers Joe (Billie) Guarascio and Al (Peggy) Guarascio as well as 3 nieces and 8 nephews.
The family is honoring Bonnie’s request for no service and a private scattering of ashes at her favorite location in northern Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers or gifts for the family, please direct any donations to the American Cancer Society in honor of Bonnie Clark.
