Elena Francolino Reid

Elena Reid, 90, of North Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on December 31, 2024. Elena was born on July 9, 1934 in Camden, New Jersey, daughter of the late Francis Anthony Francolino and Ida Cataldi Francolino, and she resided in Pennsauken, New Jersey before moving in 1971 to North Palm Beach, where she lived in the same home for 53 years. Elena was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Francolino and Sal Francolino, by her sisters Lucy Francolino, Jennie Trifiletti, and Lee Malfara, by her former husband of 25 years Ernest Reid, and by her son Andrew Reid. Elena loved music and was a gifted singer in many church choirs, and she also sang on stage, which included her favorite performance in Carmen. Elena was a woman of deep Catholic faith and was an active communicant of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. On the night before her passing, Elena tried to leave her bed and reach for her shoes, while motioning to go for a car ride. When asked where she wanted to go, she pointed up and said, "Heaven." That was the last word that Elena was able to communicate. Elena is survived by her daughter Maria Marlow and son Mike (Lucy) Reid, granddaughter Julia, grandsons Michael and Steven, and great-granddaughter Kaiya. Elena will also be greatly missed by her friends at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and St. Clare Catholic Church in North Palm Beach. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul of The Cross Catholic Church at 10970 Jack Nicklaus Dr, North Palm Beach, Florida 33408. Arrangements are under the direction of Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center in North Palm Beach. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park at 19351 SE County Line Rd, Tequesta, Florida 33469.
